Motor Vehicle Insurance
Automobile or motor vehicle insurance includes coverage such as comprehensive collision, liability, personal injury protection (PIP), uninsured motorist (UM) and underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage. In Florida, a minimum amount of PIP insurance is required for anyone who owns an automobile.
Liability automobile insurance is required in most states, through either a fault or no fault system. Other types of automobile insurance coverage include collision or accident; comprehensive for fire, theft, or other non-collision losses; medical expenses; uninsured/underinsured motorist; and gap insurance to cover the difference between the actual cash value and loan value that is owed for a vehicle.
Florida no-fault insurance is often referred to as personal injury protection (PIP). Except for automobile accidents occurring while the individual is on the job, PIP is primary coverage, providing certain statutorily mandated benefits. For any disputes regarding a PIP claim, if you do not feel that the adjuster you are dealing with is looking out for your best interests, contact the law offices of Zebersky & Payne, LLP.
